A Barrie man was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash on Fairview Road Monday afternoon. It happened around 2:30 p.m. just north of Harvie Road. Police say the 64-year-old driver was taken from the crash by air ambulance, while the other driver, a 62-year-old Barrie man, was not injured. Fairview Road was closed for roughly six hours as emergency crews and investigators worked to clear the scene. The road reopened around 8:40 p.m. Barrie police state the cause of the crash remains under investigation at this time.
