Saint John police search for man wanted on Canada-wide warrant

Police in Saint John, N.B., are asking for the public’s help as they search for a 38-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant.

A warrant was issued for Angelo Teare-Kotsabasakis on Sunday after he allegedly breached the conditions of his statutory release by failing to report to Hart House.

Teare-Kotsabasakis is a serving a sentence of two years, 10 months and 10 days for:

• possession of a prohibited/restricted firearm with ammunition
• possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
• possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
• possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order
• possession of a schedule I substance
• fraud under $5,000
• assault intentional use of force
• breach of recognition to keep the peace

Police describe him as being five-foot-nine and 220 pounds with red hair and hazel eyes.

He has tattoos on the left side of his neck and above his left eyebrow.

The Saint John Police Force is warning the public not to approach Teare-Kotsabasakis.

Anyone who sees him or has information on his whereabouts is asked to call the police at 1-506-648-3333 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
