N.B. RCMP looking for witnesses after man killed in ATV crash near Barnesville

The RCMP is looking for witnesses to an ATV collision that claimed the life of a 27-year-old man from Midland, N.B.

Police say the single-vehicle crash happened in a wooded area near Barnesville, N.B., around 9 p.m. Saturday.

“The incident is believed to have occurred when the driver of an ATV lost control of his vehicle while going up a steep hill,” said the RCMP in a news release. “The vehicle rolled over, and the driver became pinned under it.”

The driver, who was the only person riding the ATV, died at the scene.

Police are now looking to speak to anyone who witnessed the crash or anyone with information regarding the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.

“It is believed this incident was part of an event or rally with multiple people in attendance,” said the RCMP.

An autopsy will be conducted to determine the man’s exact cause of death.
