Boy, 14, dies after dirt bike struck by vehicle in Notre-Dame, N.B.

A 14-year-old boy has died after his dirt bike was struck by a vehicle in Notre-Dame, N.B.

The RCMP and other emergency crews responded to the two-vehicle collision on Route 115 shortly after 4 p.m. Sunday.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when a vehicle was passing another and struck a dirt bike travelling along the side of the road,” said the RCMP in a news release.

The driver of the dirt bike died at the scene. The teen was from Notre-Dame.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Police did not release any details about the driver. No one else was inside the vehicle.

Police say the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing, with assistance from the RCMP traffic reconstructionist and New Brunswick Coroner’s Office.
