Heavy snowfall, winter storm warnings issued for parts of New Brunswick

FREDERICTON - Environment Canada says parts of central and western New Brunswick should brace for as much as 30 centimetres of snow.

The national weather forecaster says a low pressure system is intensifying south of New England and will gradually approach the Maritimes on Saturday.

It says rain will change to snow and ice pellets Saturday evening and will persist through the day on Sunday.

Environment Canada says as much as 30 centimetres of snow and ice pellets are expected for parts of central and western New Brunswick.

The New Brunswick government is advising residents in flood-prone areas to clear leaves and debris from drains.
