Pedestrians cross the street at the intersection of Washington and 5th in Hoboken, N.J., Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024. This intersection has curb extenders, which bumps out the sidewalk near crosswalks, preventing parking near the intersection and increasing visibility for pedestrians. (AP Photo/Seth Wenig)
