Which Manitobans won the Stanley Cup this weekend

Hurricanes forward Nikolaj Ehlers shares his message to Jets fans who are happy to see him hoist the Stanley Cup.

A pair of Manitobans will soon have their names engraved on the Stanley Cup after the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Vegas Golden Knights in Sunday night’s championship.

Winnipeg’s Seth Jarvis and Brandon’s Jordan Martinook are officially Stanley Cup winners following the Game 6 victory.

Jarvis netted 32 goals and 66 points in the regular season, followed by 11 points and four goals in the playoffs. He also played for Team Canada at the 2026 Winter Olympics, helping the team take home a silver medal.

Meanwhile, Martinook had 29 points in the regular season, followed up by five points and two goals in the playoffs.

Carolina beat Vegas 3-0 in Sunday’s game, marking the team’s first Stanley Cup win in 20 years.

Former Jet finds victory

A former Winnipeg Jet can also now call himself a Stanley Cup champion.

Nikolaj Ehlers, who played in Winnipeg for a decade, helped bring the Hurricanes to victory with an empty netter.

During the regular season, the left winger recorded 71 points, including 21 goals. Playoffs saw him score 18 points, including eight goals.
