Driver airlifted to hospital following highway crash: Manitoba RCMP

A two-vehicle crash closed a section of a Manitoba highway Thursday morning and sent two people to hospital.

Steinbach RCMP responded to the two-vehicle crash on Highway 210 near Road 32 East at 6:34 a.m. When officers arrived, they found an SUV in the south ditch and a cement truck on its side blocking Highway 210.

RCMP said the driver of the SUV, a 28-year-old man from Richer, was taken to hospital by ambulance. The cement truck driver, a 38-year-old man from Steinbach, was airlifted to hospital via STARS Air Ambulance.

The road was closed in both directions for several hours, but reopened later in the morning.

RCMP said both drivers sustained minor injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
