Sunshine and warm temperatures through the week

It’s been a warm start to the month of May.

Edmonton hit highs of: 19 C Friday, 22 C Saturday and 18 C Sunday. But, a cooler NW flow takes over for today and Tuesday.

We’ll cool to highs in the low to mid teens today and Tuesday in the city while morning low will be near zero again Tuesday/Wednesday.

NE Alberta gets the brunt of that cooler air. Daytime highs will be in single digits today and Tuesday.

There’s even a slight risk of some scattered showers or wet flurries in the northeast later today.

Warmer air returns for the back half of the week and the coming weekend. Daytime highs jump back into the low 20s.

The long-range outlook for next week has more high teens and low 20s for next week.

Elsewhere - an air quality warning is in effect for Jasper due to smoke from a prescribed burn.

Precipitation outlook

Scattered showers are possible in Edmonton and surrounding areas Wednesday evening and Friday evening.

But, no significant moisture expected. It looks like most of the rain with both of those systems will be in western AB.

Overall it’s a fairly dry forecast for the Edmonton region this week.
