Three arrested after firearms call leads to discovery of grow-op

Police discovered a grow-op while investigating a firearms call.

Police said a report of a man with a firearm led to the discovery of two pellet guns and a marijuana grow-op in West Kildonan.

At around noon on Friday, members of the Winnipeg Police general patrol and Tactical Support Team were sent to a residence in the 700 block of McAdam Avenue after reports of a suspect with a firearm.

Three men were taken into custody, said police.

Inside the home, police found two pellet guns, a marijuana grow-op with an estimated street value of $28,000, a small quantity of marijana and $1,000 worth of grow-op equipment.

Three males face firearm and drug-related charges. Two teens, aged 16 and 17 have been detained. A 21-year-old man was released on a promise to appear.
