Manitoba RCMP is investigating the death of a teenage girl in a northern Manitoba community as suspicious. According to a news release on Wednesday, officers in Cross Lake were informed of a body that was found in a wooded area in Pimicikamak Cree Nation on Aug. 23. When they arrived, they found the body of an unknown woman. An autopsy later confirmed the body was that of a 17-year-old girl who was reported missing on Aug. 22. She was last seen by family on Aug. 17. RCMP said the girl’s death is being investigated as suspicious and the Major Crime Service is now investigating.
