Painted at the intersection of Water and Main streets, the green and white striped walk is meant to celebrate the rich Francophone heritage of Penetanguishene. One the oldest Francophone communities in Ontario, Penetanguishene is proud to acknowledge its bilingual culture and the contributions of those who continue to preserve and promote the French language. The Francophone crosswalk is the third of four new crosswalks being installed throughout Penetanguishene to celebrate and recognize important events.
