Six injured following two-vehicle crash on Manitoba First Nation

Six people including a toddler were hospitalized following a crash involving a side-by-side recreational vehicle and an SUV on a Manitoba First Nation over the May long weekend.

According to RCMP, officers were called to a crash at Lake Road Northeast and Point Road South on Ebb and Flow First Nation Saturday at 7:15 p.m.

Mounties said five people were inside the side-by-side at the time of the crash.

The driver, a 21-year-old woman, was taken to a hospital in Dauphin and then transported to Winnipeg for further treatment. A 17-year-old male passenger was taken to Winnipeg by air ambulance. RCMP said both remain in hospital at last report.

Three passengers, an 18-year-old woman, an 11-year-old girl and a one-year-old girl, were all treated and released from hospital in Dauphin.

The driver of the SUV, a 34-year-old woman, ran from the scene. She was later found in a nearby home and taken to a hospital in Dauphin for injury treatment.

No arrests have been made and the crash remains under investigation.
