Section of Trans-Canada Highway reopened following winter weather closure

A section of the Trans-Canada is reopened following a road closure caused by wintry weather.

According to the Manitoba government, Highway 1 from Virden to the Saskatchewan border is open as of Monday afternoon. However, the area remains partly ice covered with “fair” visibility.

This news comes after Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a snowfall warning for parts of southwest Manitoba. According to the weather agency, a low pressure system is expected to bring up to 20 cm from Tuesday afternoon to Wednesday morning.
