Second case of a suspect trying to lure child in Linden Woods in two weeks

CTV Winnipeg: Second case of attempted child lurin Rahim Ladhani on the second case of a suspicious man approaching a child in Linden Woods in Winnipeg in the past two weeks.

For the second time in two weeks, the Linden Woods area in Winnipeg is on alert after another report of someone trying to lure a child.

Ecole Van Walleghem School sent an email to parents letting them know of an incident on June 1 at approximately 8 p.m.

While playing on the Van Walleghem play structure in the first 100 block of Princemere Road, near Lindenwood Drive West, a nine-year- old-boy was approached by a man in a blue minivan near the sidewalk who said, "Hey, get in my car." The boy ran away and his parents filed a police report.

The male suspect is described as white, about 30-40 years of age with medium-length brown hair and wearing a black shirt.

A similar incident took place on May 20 in the 300 block of Lindenwood Drive East when a man got out of his vehicle and offered an 11-year-old boy candy. The boy declined and yelled for help.

Police said they are looking at a possible connection between the two incidents.
