Man arrested after pedestrian critically injured in hit-and-run: Manitoba RCMP

A hit and run in western Manitoba earlier in the week has left a 36-year-old man critically injured.

The incident happened around 2:25 a.m. on Monday when a pedestrian was hit by a car in the 500 block of Second Avenue near Pine River, Man.

The pedestrian – a 36-year-old man – was taken to the hospital in critical condition. As of Wednesday afternoon, he was still in the hospital.

RCMP alleges the driver left the scene but was found a few hours later and arrested.

A 46-year-old man has been charged with failing to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm, impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and failing to comply with demand (alcohol). He is in custody.

The charges against the suspect have not been proven in court.
