Opening date for Winnipeg Uniqlo revealed

Japanese retailer Uniqlo will open its first location in Winnipeg at CF Polo Park, along with a second store at St. Vital Centre.

The date has been set for the opening of a Japanese retail giant’s first Winnipeg location.

Uniqlo confirmed Wednesday that its store at CF Polo Park will open to the public on May 15 at 10 a.m.

A news release from the company said the store will span 18,000 square feet and includes prizes and giveaways for customers throughout the day and weekend.

The company will also open a store at St. Vital Centre at a later date this year, in the same space that once held the Hudson’s Bay Company.

Uniqlo has more than 2,500 stores around the world, including 37 in Canada, according to a news release.
