Burt Block Party performers announced

The Burt Block Party is set to return to Winnipeg this summer, with headliners that include a metalcore band, a Canadian blues rock singer and an all-female indie rock band.

On Tuesday, True North Sports and Entertainment announced the outdoor concert series will run from Aug. 13 to 16 directly outside of the Burton Cummings Theatre.

Performers include Killswitch Engage on Aug. 13; The Beaches, Lights and LØLØ on Aug. 14; Colin James and Streetheart on Aug. 15; and Collective Soul, 54.40 and Paul Langlois of the Tragically Hip on Aug. 16.

“We’re thrilled to announce our sixth year of live music outside in downtown Winnipeg this August,” said Ruben Ramalheiro, director of live entertainment for True North Sports and Entertainment, in a news release.

“Burt Block Parties have become an anticipated summer event, where our city comes together to revel in the performances of their favourite bands against the stunning backdrop of our Winnipeg skyline.”

Tickets go on sale Friday, March 13, at 10 a.m. on Ticketmaster. Full festival passes, plus a two-day pass option, will also be available.
