The regular season for Junior Varsity football in the city is officially underway. The start of the second week of the Winnipeg High School Football League season featured several JV games. Action got underway Tuesday with Steinbach securing a 19-12 win over Windsor Park. Jumping to Wednesday, six were on the docket. St. Paul’s defence stood strong against Oak Park with the 25-8 victory. Meanwhile, Vincent Massey flexed their offensive muscles with a 49-29 win over Dakota. Brandon’s Vincent Massey earned a hard-fought victory over River East 26-19, while Murdoch held Kildonan East to a single score 34-7. It was a close contest between Crocus and Sturgeon – Crocus coming out on top 16-12. Lastly, John Taylor was in complete control against Grant Park with a 33-0 victory. Varsity action continues Thursday with seven games scheduled, followed by another eight contests on Friday.
