Montreal police (SPVM) have arrested two suspects in connection with the theft of two high-priced championship bicycles stolen earlier this week. According to the SPVM, on Sept. 14, two “very expensive” bikes that were part of the UCI World Road Championships were stolen from a parking garage at a downtown hotel. A 45-year-old suspect was arrested the same day and has been charged with theft, resale and possession of stolen goods. Another man, 41, has also been arrested and is still being questioned by police.Police said one of the two bicycles has been recovered and the search for the other continues. The championship event starts this weekend, with more than 1,000 riders from 100 nations expected to compete over the course of a week.
