Dozens of tires slashed in Brandon

Vehicles parked on seven streets in Brandon had their tires slashed recently.

Brandon police are investigating after multiple vehicles in the city’s south end were discovered with their tires slashed.

Police said it happened on March 11, and 72 incidents were reported to police.

“Kind of atypical in that it happened in the south part of Brandon, which isn’t an area that has an overabundance of these types of incidents,” said Brandon Police Chief Tyler Bates, speaking with CTV News Tuesday morning.

Brandon police said vehicles parked on seven streets were affected. They were on Pine Ridge Crescent, Hawthorn Crescent, Magnolia Drive, Tracey Street, Sycamore Drive, Aspen Drive and Mulberry Crescent.

Police are asking anyone with video footage in the area to submit it to investigators.

Bates officers are still trying to figure out who is responsible for the incident.

“We’re working hard to try to bring that investigation to a successful conclusion, but at this juncture, (it’s) still under investigation, and we’re still trying to identify the suspects that were active on that particular early morning.”

Investigators are looking for two suspects. The first was seen wearing red jogging pants, a red hoodie, a black jacket and was wearing sunglasses. The second was seen wearing a grey hoodie and pants, with a black vest over the hoodie and black shoes.

Anyone with information that may be helpful to the investigation is asked to call police or Crime Stoppers.
