Colleen Bready’s forecast: Sunshine on the way as fog clears

After fog and mist on Wednesday morning in Winnipeg and other parts of southern Manitoba, the sun is starting to shine early in the afternoon.

Temperatures in the southwest could reach or exceed the freezing mark, while daytime highs in the southeast will be slightly cooler, but still well above mid-February norms.

It will be a cloudy Wednesday afternoon across the north. Flurries are possible around the region, though much more likely in areas furthest north.

Daytime highs will also be mild for the north, with most areas expected to reach minus single digit highs.

Sunshine returns to northwestern Ontario on Wednesday afternoon after snow on Tuesday. Mild daytime highs between -5 C and -3 C are also on tap.

It will be a quite night ahead for all of Manitoba, with unseasonably mild overnight lows, especially for northern regions.

There is the possibility that fog will redevelop overnight into Thursday in the south, which could reduce visibility for the morning commute.

Temperatures for the rest of the week and weekend ahead will reach close to the freezing mark, if not surpass it, with the sun shining along the way. Pleasant conditions to start off Festival du Voyageur on Friday and Valentine’s Day on Saturday.
