Windsor teen charged with stunt driving in Tecumseh

A 19-year-old Windsor resident has had their vehicle impounded for two weeks and their driver’s license suspended for 30 days after being stopped for stunt driving in Tecumseh, according to Essex County OPP.

Police allege the driver was travelling at 134 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 3 Tuesday.

The stop happened during Canada Road Safety Week, with officers noting that road conditions were wet due to rain.

The driver has been charged with:

• Stunt driving - excessive speed
• Careless driving
• Use centre lane improperly
• Fail to surrender permit
• Fail to have insurance card

OPP say they will be increasing enforcement efforts on area roadways through the remainder of Road Safety Week and into the long weekend.
