Pickup, transport truck collide on Highway 69 north of Parry Sound

Ontario Provincial Police say they are responding to a crash involving a pickup truck and a transport truck on Highway 69 just north of Highway 529 in Archipelago Township.

According to Ontario 511, the collision occurred before 6 p.m. and has closed the southbound lanes at the Highway 529 junction.

Two lanes remain open to traffic, OPP information officer Taylor Philips said in an email to CTV News.

Injuries being assessed

Emergency crews are on scene evaluating those involved in the crash.

“Injuries are currently being assessed,” Philips said.

Police have not indicated the cause of the crash, the number of people being evaluated or if charges are being considered.

Traffic delays expected

Authorities advised that motorists travelling through the area should expect delays and use alternative routes if possible.

OPP have not provided an estimated time for the roadway to fully reopen.
