Windsor-Essex resident named flag bearer at Paralympics

Windsor-Essex resident Tyler McGregor has been chosen to bear the flag at the upcoming Paralympic Games.

Windsor-Essex resident, Tyler McGregor, has been named the flag bearer for the Paralympics in Milano Cortina. He will carry the flag alongside Natalie Wilkie, a Nordic skier.

McGregor is Team Canada’s para-hockey captain and lives in the Windsor-Essex area now, but is originally from Forest, Ont.

This is McGregor’s fourth Paralympics and has won two silver and one bronze at previous games.

Wilkie holds seven medals over two games, making her one of the world’s most successful para-Nordic skiers.

Opening ceremonies are set to take place March 6.
