Family Day in Ontario is Monday, Feb. 16 and while some people get the provincial statutory holiday off, others might not. Here’s a list of what’s open and closed in Windsor-Essex on Family Day: Open: Closed: City of Windsor Holiday Hours Family Day City of Windsor administrative offices will be closed on Monday, Feb. 16, 2026, in observance of the Family Day holiday. 311 Customer Contact Centre The 311 Customer Contact Centre’s regular business hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday; however, due to the holiday, the contact centre will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. To report municipal emergencies outside of business hours, such as fallen trees, significant roadway damage, or sewer backups, call 519-255-6326. 311 self-serve options continue to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, via 311 Online and the Windsor 311 mobile app. 211 Windsor-Essex The 211 service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to serve residents throughout Windsor and Essex County. Garbage and Recycling Collections Residential garbage, yard waste and recycling collection services are not delayed by this holiday. Public Drop-Off and Household Chemical Waste Depots The depots located at the northeast corner of Central Avenue and North Service Road East will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. Parks and Recreation Celebrate Family Day in the Core with free public skating at the City Hall Square Ice Rink, 350 City Hall Square West. There will be skate lending available, vendors, and giveaways from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Families are encouraged to enjoy time downtown, including visiting Adventure Bay Family Water Park Presented by WFCU Credit Union at 401 Pitt Street West, open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. with special pricing from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and more on Monday, February 16, 2026! The WFCU Centre rinks will be open for regular ice rentals and the Windsor Spitfires game against the Saginaw Spirit (game time 2:05 p.m.) on Monday, February 16, 2026. The WFCU Centre Community Pool will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre (WIATC) presented by WFCU Credit Union Natatorium Pool and Fitness Centre will be open from 6 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026. Transit Windsor Transit Windsor buses are operating on the Sunday/holiday schedule on Monday, February 16, 2026, and the customer service office at 300 Chatham Street West will be closed. Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Family Day 2026 services altered Some health care services offered at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance’s Chatham and Wallaceburg sites will be altered on Monday in recognition of the Family Day holiday. During the statutory holiday, some outpatient diagnostic tests will take place. Patients with scheduled diagnostic tests are advised to attend their appointments. These departments will also be staffed to meet the needs of inpatients and emergencies. Ambulatory Care Services, Outpatient Rehabilitation Services, Pre-Surgical Screening Services, Diabetes Education Centre, the TIA and CAD Clinics, Pulmonary Function Lab, Outpatient Lab Services, Health Records and Patient Appointment Offices will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. The Chatham-Kent Mental Health and Addictions Program Outpatient Department will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026. The Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine clinic will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026.
