The Northern Tornadoes Project confirmed that two downbursts and a weak tornado touched down in Chatham-Kent during a storm on Friday, June 12. The storm, which produced winds of up to 125 km/h, caused damage to trees, homes and fences along a two-kilometre path near Blenheim. In the community of Croton, investigators determined that an EF0 tornado — with peak winds of about 130 km/h — tracked over four kilometres, damaging buildings and crops in the area. No injuries were reported. The Northern Tornadoes Project says its team is continuing to review satellite imagery and other data as it works to gather more information about the storm.
