Two downtown events close several streets

On Friday, multiple roads will be closed downtown starting at 2:00 p.m., according to police.

The Ouellette Car Cruise, from 6 :00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and the Downtown Block Party from 7:00 p.m. to 11:59 p.m. will be held in Windsor.

The closures include:

• Chatham Street West (Ouellette to Ferry)
• Pelissier Street (Chatham West to University West)
• Riverside Drive (intermittent closures at Ouellette, Ferry, Goyeau, Glengarry, Aylmer, and Via Udine)
• Park Street (closed at Pelissier and west of Tunnel exit)
• Chatham Street East (west of parking garage entrance)
• Ferry Street at Pitt (no eastbound to Ouellette)
• Freedom Way at Park Street (no right turns)

Police are asking the public to follow detour signs, police directions and expect delays from 2:00 p.m. to midnight.
