St. Clair College classes continue amid ongoing negotiations

Even if support staff go on strike on Thursday, St. Clair College classes will continue.

St. Clair College classes are currently proceeding as scheduled despite ongoing negotiations between the College Employer Council and the Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU).

Negotiations remain active as both sides work to reach an agreement. The union says the situation remains fluid and students are encouraged to stay informed on the latest updates. OPSEU represents support staff workers at the college.

The College Employer Council has publicly called on OPSEU to drop what they describe as “poison pills” that are hindering a final agreement. The council believes these issues are preventing a resolution and causing unnecessary uncertainty for students, according to a news release.

OPSEU says that the employer is feeling pressure from the union’s efforts. The union’s latest bargaining update suggests a growing sense of strength and determination to achieve their goals.
