Significant rain, thunderstorms and fog to hit Windsor-Essex

There is a special weather statement in effect for the region with the potential for significant rainfall tonight and Wednesday.

The saturated or frozen ground will have little ability to absorb this rainfall, with heavy downpours possibly causing flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

The damp and unsettled stretch of weather continues the next several days, with multiple rounds of showers, the risk of thunderstorms, shifting winds, and even a chance of flurries before conditions improve later in the week.

Fog patches lingering from the morning hours are expected to gradually dissipate Tuesday and temperatures will reach a mild high of 18.

Conditions remain unsettled tonight with a 60 per cent chance of showers, steadier rainfall is expected to develop as the night progresses, and thunderstorms remain possible through the evening and overnight.
