Provincial police have reopened the northbound direction of Highway 400 just north of Barrie after a crash Monday morning. The incident In an 8:03 a.m. social media post, the OPP confirmed the closure between the Highway 11 split and the Forbes Road exit. Police reported that injuries were being assessed and a prolonged closure was expected as crews worked on the scene. An OPP public information advisor (PIA) told CTV News that the crash involved a pickup truck and a car near the Partridge Road overpass in Springwater Township, adding that the pickup rolled over and the driver was ejected. CTV News observed a tow truck removing the pickup from the centre median. The other vehicle, a silver SUV, appeared to have considerable frontend damage. Police say the pickup truck driver was airlifted by an Air Ornge ambulance to a trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was reportedly hospitalized locally as a precaution. Highway reopens In an 11:05 a.m. update, the OPP confirmed that the area was reopened. “We appreciated your patience and understanding during the on-site investigation and clean-up,” said the OPP in its social media post.
