Shovel your sidewalks: Windsor reminding residents of bylaw

After a big snowfall, Windsor officials are reminding you to shovel your sidewalks.

Officials with the City of Windsor are reminding residents to be a good neighbour and shovel their sidewalks.

Officials are reminding homeowners that it’s their responsibility.

They must be clear within 12 hours of a snowfall ending. If you are a business owner, commercial sidewalks must be shoveled within four hours of the snowfall or within 4 hours after sunrise, if the snow fell overnight.

Sidewalks need to be cleared to allow the safe passage of all pedestrians including those who may require the use of a wheelchair or stroller.

Non-compliance to the bylaw will likely result with the city clearing the sidewalk and applying the cost to do so.
