Police identify suspect in relation to hate-motivated graffiti in downtown Windsor

Windsor Police have identified a suspect in relation to hate-motivated graffiti found along Ottawa Street on August 10.

Previously, police asked the public to help identify the individual responsible for defacing electrical boxes and garbage cans with derogatory language targeting racial and 2SLGBTQ+ communities.

The suspect has been identified as Steven Pargelen, a 38-year-old male, and police have issued an arrest warrant.

Police say he’s wanted on two charges of public incitement of hatred and mischief under $5,000.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6’3” tall, with a heavy build, long brown hair and a full beard.
