One arrested in home break-in, vehicle theft: WPS

The Windsor Police Service has arrested one person in connection with a home break-in and a vehicle theft.

On April 16, police said someone broke into a home in the 600 block of University Avenue East, resulting in the theft of several things, including a spare key to the homeowner’s vehicle.

Just after 8 a.m. on April 24, officers said the suspect came back to the property with his face hidden by a black bandana and used the key to take the vehicle.

The stolen vehicle was found in an alley behind the 300 block of Bruce Avenue less than an hour later.

A 34-year-old man was found and arrested in the 900 block of Ouellette Avenue later in the day.

The man is facing several charges related to theft and driving while prohibited.
