Caesars Windsor is planning a free e-waste collection next week. It takes place on Monday, Sept. 14 and Tuesday, Sept. 15 from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. The public is invited to drop off unwanted electronics, big or small, in the gated parking lot located at 250 Windsor Ave., across from The Colosseum. Vehicles can drive through, entering through the Chatham Street gate, just west of McDougall Ave. Walk-ups are also welcome. What is e-waste? Electronic waste includes unwanted electronic equipment, such as smart devices and used cables, as well as batteries and fluorescent lights (including compact fluorescent lights). Large bins will accommodate any size electronic device, including amplifiers, cameras, cell phones, computers, monitors, speakers, scanners, printers, tuners, and televisions. Unwanted electronics shouldn’t end up in landfills. Most of the parts, such as steel, glass, copper, aluminum, plastics, and precious metals can be recovered and made into new products. E-waste, if not managed properly, can be harmful to human health and to the environment. Caesars Windsor is part of Caesars Entertainment’s corporate-wide commitment to environmental stewardship, CodeGreen. To assist the community, Caesars Windsor HERO volunteers will be on-site to help guests offload their e-waste.
