Fatal crash in Chatham-Kent claims life of Ridgetown woman

A woman from Ridgetown has died after a crash in Chatham-Kent.

Around 10:320 a.m. Thursday, police and EMS were sent to a crash on Longwoods Road between Wallace Street and Pitt Road.

According to police, the collision involved two vehicles, each with one occupant.

A 29-year-old man from Thamesville was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with minor injuries, and A 29-year-old woman from Ridgetown was taken to Four Counties Hospital with serious injuries and later succumbed to her injuries.

The Traffic Management Unit attended the scene and the roadway was closed for several hours but has since reopened - the investigation is ongoing.
