A driver is facing a number of charges after a traffic stop this past weekend. Just before 9 a.m. Sunday, Essex County OPP say they stopped a vehicle for travelling 118 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone on Highway 3 in the Town of Tecumseh. According to the arresting officer, the driver was attempting to changes places with the passenger. The driver was then arrested. The 28-year-old Windsor man has been charged with: Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code (two counts) Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court Speeding 1 - 49 km/h over posted limit Driving while under suspension The accused is scheduled to appear in court later in September. The vehicle has also been impounded for 45 days.
