Saskatchewan RCMP are asking the public for help locating a dark-coloured van or SUV that may be connected to a suspicious death investigation in Sandy Bay. Sandy Bay RCMP responded to a report of an injured man in a home in the community at about 4:35 a.m. Sunday. Arriving officers located the man who was later pronounced dead at the scene by medical professionals. Police say the death is considered suspicious and the investigation has been taken over by the Saskatchewan RCMP Homicide Investigation Unit. Police believe a dark blue or black van or SUV may be connected to the case. In an update issued later Sunday morning, RCMP said the vehicle may have a dent near the driver’s-side rear wheel. RCMP are asking anyone with information about a vehicle matching that description or its presence in the Sandy Bay area on the morning of Aug. 16, to contact police immediately. “The van/SUV should not be approached. The occupant(s) may be armed and are considered dangerous,” RCMP said. RCMP are also asking residents in the area to check security and doorbell camera footage from the early morning hours for suspicious activity or images of the vehicle. RCMP say there will be an increased police presence in the community as the investigation continues. Sandy Bay is located about 455 kilometres northeast of Prince Albert.
