Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a shooting in downtown Kitchener that left one man with serious injuries. Police said officers responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Goudies Lane and Queen Street North around 2:10 a.m. Sunday. A 21-year-old man was later found with a gunshot wound and was transported to an out-of-region hospital, where he remains in critical condition. Police said they are reviewing available video footage and, although the investigation remains in its early stages, believe the shooting was targeted. “The suspects are described as three Black males who were seen fleeing the area,” police said in a media release. No further details have been released at this time.
