Driver charged after allegedly being found unresponsive at the wheel with fentanyl: WPS

A Windsor driver has been charged after allegedly being found unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle with fentanyl visible.

Just after 7 a.m. on Thursday, police were called to the 1400 block of Lincoln Road with a report of a driver passed out in a vehicle in the road.

Officers said the vehicle was seen slowing down and stopping in the middle of the street, with the driver asleep behind the wheel.

When the Windsor Police Service arrived on scene, they said they found a man still unresponsive in the driver’s seat. Officers said a quantity of fentanyl was also seen in the suspect’s lap with a lighter in his hand.

The suspect was arrested at the scene without incident once regained consciousness.

Two more bags of drugs were seized, police said.

A 47-year-old man is facing multiple drug related charges and a driving without a license charge.
