Chatham man charged after allegedly ramming ex-partner’s vehicle

Chatham-Kent police have charged a 34-year-old man after he allegedly drove into his ex-partner’s vehicle after a break-up.

On Thursday at 6 p.m., officers responded to a report of a collision on King Street East, near William Street South in Chatham.

Police say witnesses saw the man deliberately colliding with another vehicle several times. Through investigation, officers say they learned the individuals had recently dissolved their romantic relationship.

No injuries were reported.

The Chatham man was located, arrested and charged with assault with a weapon, mischief, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was transported to police headquarters and later released on a Form 10 with conditions and a future court date of Oct. 14, 2025.
