‘Burger Battle’ returning for fourth year

The Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland wants to know who has the best burger in Windsor-Essex.

The club has launched its fourth annual ‘Burger Battle’.

Burger Battle chair Ann Hetherington said the battle runs from Jan. 5 to March 26, 2026.

She said 18 local restaurants are taking part in the competition.

“This year it’s a fourth year Burger Battle, and we’re really, really excited about it because we have 18 restaurants; five of them are brand new, and it’s going to create a wonderful experience for anybody that buys our $20 passports,” she said.

“With that passport you just go into a restaurant, show it to the server between Jan. 5 and March 26, and you’ll get a buy one, get one free burger and fries meal.”

She said restaurants reached out to Rotary to be a part of the battle.

“It’s an event that’s growing,” said Hetherington.

“It’s an event that works for restaurants. They see an increase in their business from the January to March timeframe, which is typically a little slower after Christmas.”

After you eat your burgers at participating restaurants, you are asked to vote for your favourite burger.

The participating restaurants are:

• Beach House Grill at 70 Park Street, Kingsville (passport valid from Tuesday to Thursday only)
• Beerded Dog Brewing Co. at 21 King Street West, Harrow (passport valid from Tuesday to Thursday only)
• Benders Bar and Grill at 4750 Malden Road, Windsor
• Crave Family Grill and Pub at 26 Erie Street North, Leamington
• Harbour House at 9550 Riverside Drive East, Windsor
• Hustle 507 at 507 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor
• JJ’s Roadhouse at 2300 Huron Church Road, Windsor
• Joe Schmoe’s at 5881 Malden Road, LaSalle
• River’s Edge at 494 Riverdale Avenue, Windsor
• Sandy’s Riverside Grill at 7021 Wyandotte Street East, Windsor
• Smoke and Spice at 7470 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor
• All three Loose Goose locations at 126 Ouellette Avenue, Windsor; 624 Chilver, Unit 103, Walkerville; 230-480 Advance Boulevard, Lakeshore
• Thirsty Butler at 1585 Wyandotte Street East, Windsor

Burger Battle passports are now available on the Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland’s website and at the 18 participating restaurants.

Joe Schmoe’s Eats N Drinks on Malden Road in LaSalle is the reigning, two-time Burger Battle champion.
