Banwell Road closure planned for E.C. Row Expressway interchange project

Banwell Road will be intermittently closed next week.

The City of Windsor is informing drivers that a few sections of Banwell Road will be closed while crews work on the E.C. Row Expressway interchange project.

Banwell Road will be closed to all traffic between E.C. Row Expressway and the NextStar north entrance as well as from Intersection Road to Shields Street.

This is to accommodate the traffic switchover from the current Banwell Road to the southbound lanes of the new Banwell Road alignment as part of the interchange and corridor improvements project at Banwell Road.

E.C. Row Expressway, Lesperance Road, and Manning Road will remain open.

Detour signage will be in place along Manning Road/County Road 19, Lesperance Road, Banwell Road/County Road 43, Lauzon Parkway, E.C. Row Expressway, Intersection Road, County Road 42, and County Road 46.

Here’s when:

Closure of Banwell Road between E.C. Row Expressway and the NextStar north entrance:

• 7 a.m. Monday, June 22, to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2026 (weather permitting)

Closure of Banwell Road from Intersection Road to Shields Street:

• 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, to 6 p.m. Friday, June 26, 2026

Detour signage will be in place for motorists during both closures.
