Armed robbery report leads to charges

Two have been charged after a reported armed robbery over the weekend.

On Saturday around 10:20 a.m., police were called to the incident near the intersection of Wyandotte Street East and Hall Avenue. According to officers, two suspects punched the victim, threatening them with a machete and a taser.

The Windsor Police Service added that the victim’s belongings were taken, and the suspects left via cab before officers arrived on scene.

Minor injuries were sustained by the victim.

Approximately five minutes later, police found and stopped the cab, leading to two arrests.

A 45-year-old man is facing charges for:

• Robbery
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
• Two counts of breach of a release order

A 43-year-old woman is also facing charges for:

• Robbery
• Possession of a prohibited weapon
