Witnesses, video sought after sex assault near SkyTrain station in Surrey, police say

Metro Vancouver Transit Police are asking for the public’s help as they investigate a sexual assault near a SkyTrain station in Surrey last month.

Police said the incident unfolded just after 4 p.m. on Jan. 21, at the Scott Road Park and Ride Lot A, which is adjacent to North Surrey’s Scott Road SkyTrain Station.

“After exhausting all investigative avenues, we are asking witnesses, or anyone with dash cam video, to contact police,” police said in a statement on Wednesday.

Authorities said the woman was walking from the SkyTrain to her car in the parking lot near 110 Avenue and 126A Street, when she was approached by a man from behind and sexually assaulted.

The woman fought back, and the suspect fled the scene towards the SkyTrain station.

Police described the suspect as a tall, white man in his mid to late 20s, with a medium build.

He had light-coloured eyes, a partial brown beard, and was wearing a blue zip-up hoodie with the hood pulled up, dark blue jeans and a black toque.
