After a brutal winter and cooler than average spring, temperatures are finally on the rebound, so Londoners will finally have ample opportunity to soak up the sunshine. “We are under the influence of high pressure, lots of sunshine and feeling like summer across southern Ontario,” said CTV News London Meteorologist Julie Atchison. “Temperatures in the mid 20s this afternoon.” Tuesday’s high will peak at 28 C, feeling like 31 with the humidex. Make sure to cover up or wear sunscreen, as the UV index will hit eight. Skies will be mostly clear overnight, with a low of 14 C. Looking ahead to the middle of the workweek, Wednesday will feature more sunshine and a high of 25 C. Winds will hold steady at 30 km/h with the UV index peaking at eight. Overnight Wednesday will see clear skies and a low of 10 C. Atchison says a weak cold front in the north will push through the area on Wednesday, but at most will bring in a shift of winds and slightly cooler temperatures beginning on Thursday. “That cold front will try and squeeze out a shower in Michigan, but other than that, just a few fair-weather clouds as that front slips through the area,” adding that the front will stay south and not penetrate southern Ontario. On Thursday temperatures dip slightly to 22 C, but London will see plenty of sunshine and blue skies. “This time we stay on the warm, sunny and dry side of things,” she said.
