The city of Vancouver is poised to welcome North America’s largest ever sauna, with a new facility dedicated to the ancient Finnish ritual set to open next month. Tevah Wellness will open a holistic wellness facility on Yaletown’s Pacific Boulevard Dec. 1, with a sprawling 725-square-foot sauna as its main feature. The sauna, which will comfortably accommodate up to 60 guests, will be joined by three deep cold-plunge pools and cold body jets. For those who are new to the experience or simply looking for a bit of guidance, the facility will be offering sessions on breathwork, sauna and cold plunge experiences, led by experienced instructors. Among those offering their expertise in hot and cold exposure is founder Andrew Ao, whose training includes the Wim Hof Method. The new facility will offer daily classes that each have different focuses. Covering morning, midday, and nighttime, the classes will concentrate on awakening and energizing, bringing midday clarity, and promoting sleep. Free-flow recovery sessions are also available. “Tevah was created as a space where people can pause, be restored, and transformed,” said Ao in a news release. “We designed it for the people who are always building, creating and pushing forward to have a space where they can slow down without stopping.”
