Kingston Police are searching for an inmate who went missing from a correctional facility in the city on Thursday. According to a news release from police, Mason Jenkins, a 49-year-old man serving a life sentence for first degree murder and drug trafficking, was unaccounted for during the 11:15 a.m. count at the minimum-security unit of Collins Bay Institution. Jenkins is described as a white man with a fair complexion who is approximately 5-feet-9-inches and 255 pounds. Jenkins has brown eyes and brown hair but is currently shaved bald. He was last seen wearing a light green jacket, blue jeans and rubber boots. If seen, Jenkins should not be approached. Instead, 911 should be contacted immediately.
