Attempted kidnapping stopped by border officials at Blue Water Bridge

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) stopped an attempted kidnapping at the Blue Water Bridge in Point Edward, Ont.

The incident happened on Aug. 27. CBP Director of Field Operations, Marty Raybon, said a minor female passenger was reported missing and was with an unrelated male driver, who is a U.S. permanent resident deriving from Afghanistan.

The girl was reunited with her mother. The suspect was then arrested and turned over to Kalamazoo, Mich. police.
