Vancouver police seek suspect in alleged unprovoked assault

Police in Vancouver are seeking the public’s assistance as they investigate an alleged unprovoked assault in the city’s Marpole neighbourhood.

According to the Vancouver Police Department, a man was waiting at a bus stop near Southwest Marine Drive and Ash Street on July 7 when he was allegedly approached from behind, pushed to the ground and had his headphones ripped off.

Police allege the suspect then struck the victim several times with a skateboard before the victim managed to flee and call 911.

The victim sustained minor injuries to his forearm, according to police.

“The investigation remains active and ongoing,” the department said in a statement Monday.
